Greetings to all who read this blog post. I have no earthly idea how many blogs exist in the world. The myriad of subject matters and sources must be quite something to behold. There is a lot of "noise" in the world of online messaging. The days of just a limited number of reputable journalists who had trained at a university and who were tightly fact checked and reported to an editor are increasingly far behind us now. Early bloggers were trail blazers as were those who were pioneers upon the scene of creating content for YouTube, Facebook and TikTok. It is into that noise that I present this, my very first blog post. What could I contribute? I am convinced that this is the wrong question to ask. What I offer is based more upon what is needed and it is backed by a simple truth. In Isaiah 55:11, the prophet recites a declaration from God to all who are thirsty, "as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without first watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, (a pretty early understanding of the way the Water Cycle works, btw) so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." This Fox Valley Church blog is an avenue for God to send out a word that is needed. It isn't about likes, shares or comments. It is about God's words getting out and accomplishing what he desires. Into the noise I submit to you, the reader, these words from Jesus, found in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No comes to the Father except through me." Jesus isn't just more noise, he is even more than better noise. Christ is more than an option for living life--He is life. He is more than just His truth--He is Truth. Jesus is more than a leader who knows a way to a better life--He is THE way. So long as Jesus is presented, this a meaningful blog post. So long as any disciple of Christ presents Jesus to the thirsty they are doing a very good thing. Concern for how many will hear is short sighted and ultimately not the point at all. He who has ears, let him hear :)
